Jubilee of Taras Shevchenko, outstanding Ukrainian poet, marked in Baku, Azerbaijan (2011)
A ceremony marking the 150-year anniversary of death of prominent Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko was held here on Thursday.
Representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy in Baku and Ukrainian community here paid respect to Shevchenko by laying a wreath at his monument.
Ukraine's charge d'affaires in Azerbaijan Miroslav Blashuk highlighted the life and creative activity of the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.
'Barnivok' ensemble in national dress recited poems and sang songs by Taras Shevchenko in the building of Azerbaijan-Ukraine Society.
